Linking Leaders: A NASA-sponsored project aimed at strengthening the Coalitions’ connections with the business community and its influence and advocacy role in Virginia.

Solve-it: A statewide mathematics initiative reaching all elementary school students in Virginia to engage families in enjoyable, rewarding and creative mathematics activities.

Middle School Conference: In partnership with the Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), led a Fund for the Improvement of Postsecondary Education (FIPSE) middle school conference in 2003 addressing the need for additional strong middle school math and science teachers.

The Journal of Mathematics and Science: Collaborative Explorations: Published biannually as a forum for those engaged in the math and science preparation of teachers. Special issues have included coverage of the Programs that Work and Two-year College conferences.

Sponsored National Science Foundation (NSF) National Conference: On the role of two-year colleges in the science and mathematics preparation of future teachers. The Coalition has since worked closely with the Virginia Community College System (VCCS) and land co-sponsored VCCS PF-12 Teacher Preparation Colloquia in 2000 and 2001.
