VMSC President: Eric Rhoades

Eric Rhoades is the Director of VISTA at George Mason University.  He is the former Supervisor of Mathematics and Science for Stafford County Public Schools and President of the Virginia Science Education Leadership Association (VSELA) and former the Science Coordinator for the Virginia Department of Education.

Eric has been a committed teacher, educator, and member of the mathematics and science education community for nearly 20 years. Prior to his career as supervisor with SCPS in 2006, Rhoades was the science coordinator for the Virginia Department of Education. He worked on the revision of the Science Standards of Learning, Curriculum Framework, and the Enhanced Scope and Sequence amongst other projects that supported standards-based instruction. Prior to the Virginia Department of Education, Rhoades was a science coordinator and teacher with Powhatan County Public Schools. Rhoades is also the president of the Virginia Science Education Leadership Association and Virginia Association of Science Teacher board member.

He was elected on May 11, 2010.
